Savage Innocence by Anne Mather (Large Print Harlequin)

Okay, I didn't think this as bad a book as the other reviewers. Yes, the hero is married when he sleeps with and impregnates the heroine. Yes, most would believe that means they ~both~ have less-than-stellar characters. But there ~are~ extenuating circumstances ... this is not a guy whose wife is at home thinking that everything in their life is hunky dory ... and by the end of the book you learn a lot about why the hero was open to finding love outside his marriage. I'm not saying I approve of the hero's actions, but I am saying he's not some philandering cad. As always, Anne Mather paints a fascinating look at a complex relationship. I certainly felt this one was worth the time it took to read! Description from the book back cover: Innocent motives, savage consequences ... Single and pregnant, Isobel Dorland yearns for family life. Unfortunately Jared, with whom she is head over heels in love, and who is the father of her child, is in no position to offer her the ultimate commitment - marriage. Desperate to get away, Belle leaves - without telling Jared where she's going or about the baby she's carrying. But it can only be a matter of time before he catches up with her ... She's single, she's sexy ... and she's pregnant!
