Historical Western Indian Romance

My first book by this author...but won't be my last! As in other reviews I've read here, Wayne writes secondary character's stories into this book also, and they were all wonderful. As a matter of fact, I lost my heart to the main character's Comanche father... Creek Eagle. The story begins when a young woman, Shelaine Evans, travels to Fort Sill from St. Louis to find her father, an Army officer, whom she has only seen a couple of times in her life. What she finds is an adventure in the untamed West which begins when she is saved from death, by a half-breed Comanche Warrior, after falling into a raging river. There are many twists and turns in this story, that once presented, aren't difficult to figure out before they are revealed. This doesn't take anything away from the story. There is also violence and some cruelty, so be forewarned. And of course, the hatred of the times is included. It is written during the time of Geronimo and Cochise, before all were confined on reservations. If you are looking for a good Western, Indian romance, try this one. I wasn't disappointed.
