A Powerful Message

Santa's Gift by Charise Neugebauer is a parable for our times. In these days of budget problems we learn of a different kind of crisis. There is a shortage of gratitude and wonder and more greed than we can deal with in one lifetime. In the true spirit of all that Santa represents, Timothy learns some important lessons about friendship and all the wonderful things that go with it. I am a librarian and read this to my PreK-2nd grade students. Their eyes light up as they laugh at the wonderful illustrations painted by Barbara Nascimbeni. Their hearts swell as they share their wisdom about the story.
