Should've tested the code ...

I found this book to be useful as a reference tool, but many of the examples they gave simply did not work (in IE or Netscape). The ASP chapter was sparse, but the ADO coverage was good. Probably not for beginners...

Good explanation but bad organization

The content of the book was good. As a beginner to ASP, I found this book to be very helpful. However, it can be confusing. The book is not well organize. I would recommend it as a reference book. This book is definitely NOT for a beginner.

Written for Microsoft Technologists

Very Microsoft indeed and all you need to know about ADO (even ADC if you care). The database connectivity material goes beyond what's in the ASP books. Pair this with Alex Homer's ASP book and you have the perfect combination.

Excellent book, easy to understand, very usefull & current.

This is an excellent book, detailing most of the important web techniques in a very easy to understand way. The chapters are dedicated to topics that are necessary to develop database enabled dynamic and browser independent web sites. The topics are covered in as much as detail but not to bore anybody with too much technical depth. Highly recommended for beginers to expert for reference. The ADO recordset is the best part/chapter. Read/buy this book if you are serious about Web Database Development.

Great Book, Well Worth the investment!!!!!

I just wish this book had the words "Active Server" in it and I would have found it sooner! This book along with Professional Active Server Pages; Darren Gill, Alex Homer provide an excellent foundation in both active server pages and vbscript. This book also give an in depth treatment of the ADO.
