Loved it!

My daughter told me that the book reminds her of what she went through in school. And it taught her a great deal in reading it. I love her for her strength. I love the general direction of the book.

Don't judge a book by its cover!

When a new girl comes to school wearing fancy clothes and sporting fancy manners -- but shuns Walter the pet gerbil -- our hero is stunned to realize that some of his friends like Samantha. What a crisis! He is now (along with all his pals) invited to Samantha's mansion for a fabulous birthday party with pony rides and swimming in an indoor pool. He wants to be mean and give Samantha a rubber snake, but changes his mind and gives her a doll that he thinks looks like a snob, too! But jealousy turns to friendship when Samantha gives him the thumbs-up when they win all the party games together and they discover that they are both wearing the same Captain Funnybone squirting water ring, and squirt each other with glee! Young readers will count Samantha the Snob among their favorites.
