Best Coffee Table Book I own

I have thouroughly enjoyed the writing and presentation style of Dr. Allen. He has visited and studied these lands for about 40 years and compiles the information in an easy to read format. The research is scholarly and the evidence is sound. He shares the information plainly and uses credible sources where appropriate. He uses the scriptures, the writings and history of these people, and well as sets a criteria for these lands that is hard to ignore. I would highly recommend this book and have bought several as gifts. It is a nice hard back with excellent pictures and great explainations. I feel the book is a must have for any and everyone!!!

Excellent review of Book of Mormon Sites

This is a must have book for anyone serious in the considerations of Book of Mormon Sites. A great balance of text and pictures. This is a beautifully illustrated and thoughtful review of archeologic sites and proposed places for historic Book of Mormon events. The companion to this book should be coming out in the Spring of 2008 I look forward to purchasing that book as well.

Anyone can order this excellent book direct from Deseret Books either on line or at any one of their stores across the USA for THIRTY DOLLARS. For those interested in this research, you may be interested in some slightly opposing hypotheses in the now, out of print, book: Deciphering the Geography of the Book of Mormon by Dr. Richard Hauck. I am serving a senior mission in Guatemala and, recently, was honored to have met Dr. Richard Hauck after church services. He graciouly gave me the opportunity to ask him a few relevant questions on his work related to the scriptures. He also informed me that he is presently re-writing the book in relationship to some new discoveries in his archeological findings. He further mentioned that he comes to Guatemala several times during the year to continue that work.
