Nice human angle

This book gave me an appreciation for the personalities of the key players in the expedition. For instance, we learn that Sacagawea "wept profusely" when she met her brother, and showed grit and courage after a boat wreck while the men on board panicked. I think the human side is what makes history engaging and interesting--better than dry facts. I appreciated quotes from the journals of Lewis and Clark.
