The epic conclusion to the intensely romantic and beautifully written story that started in Divine Rivals.
Two weeks have passed since Iris Winnow returned home bruised and heartbroken from the front, but the war is far from over. Roman is missing, and the city of Oath continues to dwell in a state of disbelief and ignorance. When Iris and Attie are given another chance to report on Dacre's movements, they both take the opportunity...
Contrary to some peoples' opinions, this book was just as ridiculously well written and interesting as Divine Rivals. Both books of this duology were genuinely some of the best I have ever read, each in their own way. The stories flow into each other effortlessly and the author does a fantastic job of keeping the reader captivated by different events and characters being developed through the series. Ruthless Vows does not have as much romance as Divine Rivals, but that's the whole point - for the story to play out and the war of the gods to manifest itself wholly, so that we, as readers, get to see the end result (which is frankly PHENOMENAL!)... I loved every second of this book, and Divine Rivals, and cannot express enough how much I enjoy Rebecca Ross' writing and her ability to articulate experiences and emotions in such a unique, special, and relatable way. Her words are truly magic. 5/5!!
