If you are doing research on Russian organized crime in any kind of depth, this book is a must-have. Extremely comprehensive, with essays by a variety of experts on the subject, all with different perspectives and angles by which they discourse on the topic. This book also cites endless more sources for further reading within the text itself, providing not only multiple sources due to the varying authors but even more sources in the footnotes and endnotes. Not to mention there is a primary source of the documentation of an investigation of Russian emigres in New York, along with other diagrams and statistics useful and understandable. Well-written and concise, "The New Threat?" is an extremely useful and wide-ranging collection of essays ideal for preliminary research on this topic. It may seem pricey, but if you are looking for information about the Red Mafiya, it is WELL worth the price.
Great Compilation
