For followers of the exploits of Mack Bolan, aka, The Executioner, this is a must read and a must to add to your collection. This is a 1984 offering, and is book ten of the exploits of Mack Bolan's death squad...Able Team! Not spoilers here...I promise! With this offering Able Team has been dispatched to make a cocaine bust in Manhattan, along with several incidental executions of the bad guys, when they find themselves in a plot by the fanatical Irish national Army of Liberation to attack members of the British Royal Family. They have only two days to foil the dastardly plans. As always, no quarter is spared, no mercy shown; there is only swift and harsh righteous justice dealt by fire...lots and lots of fire. To complicate matters even more though, the deadly team must travel to London and find an infiltrator in the British counter-terror network. Carl Lyons, Gadgets Schwarz and Pol Blancanales are at their deadly best here. While their complex characters have not been fully developed as we find in the more recent published works, they are still what they are; cold blooded killers fighting the good fight against the forces of evil; police, judge, jury and executioners...all for the price of one. You cannot find much better than that! I actually lost track of the body count about one third of the way through this book. We get an added bonus with this publication; "Early Fire" which is a deep background on Able Team's mentor, featuring Mack Bolan while he was in Vietnam. Excellent bit of work by the Don Pendleton crew...I must say. Mack is not packing "BIG THUNDER" yet, but he will makes up for it in other ways with other weapons. This one is out of print, as are several hundred others of their ilk, but good used copies abound. Don Blankenship The Ozarks
