Delightful

This is the first writing I ever encountered from John Whitbourn and it was a thoroughly enjoyable read. This is not a typical fantasy novel by any stretch. But if you enjoy intelligent characterisations, wry homour, strong plotting and a decidely atypical milieu for fantasy stories, you would be well-served by a look at this book. I must confess I haven't enjoyed a fantasy novel this much in many many years. I will look hard for further work by this writer.
