Rowan & Avery is a hybrid multilingual poetry/prose collection on what it is like to come out as an LGBTQIA+ human being. The languages featured are Korean and English. This story chronicles how along one's journey there are nonlinear steps on that path to finding love, even in loving oneself. The Grandmothers play an integral part in this story because of the heart they show towards their own and others. They create a sense of purpose and home for the two granddaughters to be themselves. They foster and allow that environment for growth. Language is another integral part of the story. Within the story, Korean and English are being used. Within this world, people come from expansive and different nationalities, cultures, races, and backgrounds. The way language is integrated is that Korean merges itself with English. It becomes a part of the story. The translations are provided next to the Korean portion.
