Indispensable for learning Romanian phrases

This offers a lot! It offers conversation that goes beyond "I'd like a room with a bath." and "Where is the nearest movie theatre?" If I were going to Romania, this is definitely a book I'd take along! It has pronunciation tips, which help. In the back there's somewhat of a two-way English-Romanian Romanian-English dictionary which also helps. It doesn't cover grammar. For that see "Romanian Grammar" (ISBN: 0870528920), also by Hippocrene. It also doesn't come with tapes or CDs nor does it offer them. That's why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.
