16-year-old Scotty and her grandmother try to find her mother, who may or may not be dead. Add romance, heartache, and critical choices, and Scotty's life is about to change. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is one of those series that you don't want to skip a book or read them out of order. If you've read the first two books, you'll be dying to read this one when you finish. This is an amazing third installment in an awesome series. I am so hooked on Scotty it's not even funny. I love her personality and the things she is learning. She's one of the best YA characters I've gotten to know because she is quirky and there is so much personality to her. Her innocence is pretty sweet, too. I've particularly enjoyed Romancing Hollywood Nobody because there this (duh) romance in the air for several key characters in the series. I don't want to spoil the fun, so I'm not saying any more. But this entire book was very enjoyable. I also loved the whole tension subplot with Scotty and "the Karissa", especially the part where Scotty deals with wanting to protect her friend Seth "Hottie" Haas. She learns a lot about letting go and allowing people to make their own choices and learn from their mistakes. It's a real growing book for Scotty and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
To blog or not to blog...

Recently reunited with her dad, Scotty Dawn's life has changed for the better. Scotty, Charley, and Dad take the RV to Asheville, Texas where Charley is working for an impossible director. Star of the film, Scottish actor, Anthony Harris, makes the horrible job worthwhile when he rescues Charley from the director's wrath. Not only is Anthony a hero, he and Charley have been spending a lot of time together. Charley isn't the only one finding romance. Scotty meets Angus, a young bagpiper whose family runs the campground the RV is parked at. Seth and Karissa are also back together, much to Scotty's chagrin. She blogs about Seth's bad choices on her blog, but a comment from a reader reminds her of the plank in her own eye. When he hears about Charley's budding romance, Jeremy comes running with intentions of his own. Charley is forced to choose. Scotty's choice is made for her. Angus' family is falling apart, leaving little time for romance. Scotty spends her free time with her dad, brainstorming ways to find her missing mother. She can't seem to write on her blog. The reader was right. Making fun of Hollywood celebrities doesn't feel right anymore, especially when Seth's behavior is beyond reproach. Lisa Samson has created a marvelous character in Scotty Dawn. She's funny, smart, and is turning into an amazing young woman who's delightful to spend time with. I can't wait for the fourth book. Highly Recommended.
3rd in series another delight

Romancing Hollywood Nobody by Lisa Samson is the third book her YA series starring Scotty Dawn. And Scotty is really growing up, having her father around has helped enormously. Charley, Scotty's grandma, is still working as a movie food preparer, but this time instead of working for independent film maker (and family friend) Jeremy, she's working with a notoriously bad tempered Hollywood bigwig. Charley is pushed to her limits until a handsome Scottish actor sweeps her off of her feet. Scotty is facing some romance of her own with bagpipe-playing Angus. Scotty is trying more and more to the right thing, although that causes her to be a bit nosey on occasion. Her faith is growing too, and that makes her rethink running her blog Hollywood Nobody, which is similar to a rated PG Perez Hilton. After reading about Scotty's realization, I gave up my own addiction to Perez. She's right, the gossip industry has sprung up around rejoicing over other people's sins and troubles. Samson's writing is always a joy to read, especially the dialogue.
I love this series!

I got this book in the mail and MADE myself finish the book I was in the middle of before I allowed myself to start Romancing Hollywood Nobody (I thought it was going to kill me to wait!!!) Boy was this book worth the wait. Scotty is back with Charley, Seth, Dad, Jeremy and some new characters as well (oh yea, the Karissa is back too). Lisa Samson does not disappoint with this series of books - I do think you can read any of them as stand alone books - but why miss out on the charm of the series? Do yourself a favor and start with book #1 and go straight through - you will be captivated by the plot, the writing style, the characters, even the settings. And can I just say that it is an injustice to all fiction fans everywhere to classify this series as young adult - I love them and I'm in my 30's and my mother-in-law loves them and she is in her 60's! Don't deny yourself one of life's pleasures - read these books!
Cute and Fabulous

*sigh* Romancing Hollywood Nobody definitely does live up to par with the other Hollywood Nobodies, and in a way it's better. You could read it alone, but I strongly suggest starting with [book: Hollywood Nobody] and then reading [book: Finding Hollywood Nobody] before [book: Romancing Hollywood Nobody]. In the previous books, [author: Lisa Samson] has told some pretty good lessons in between some fabulous teenage humor. Starting with Scotty as a barely teen and now having her at seventeen is fun to grow with her. This book does have some "Ugh, what an idiot!" moments, but the best part to me, was about half way through, when I was like, "Oh, Wow. That makes sense." Really, it made me think of the times when you are sitting in church and all of the sudden what you are hearing in the sermon just clicks. That is what Lisa did with this story and it was so entertaining to boot! I got the book in my hands at 3:00pm and took a break when the hubby came home at 6:30, but otherwise read almost straight through until I finished a little before 9:00pm. I think that is what you would call a "page turner" and one that I could just "not put down." I definitely recommend Hollywood Nobody. Even boys will enjoy and benefit from the story. There is no age limit on Hollywood Nobody, it's for all who need a comfy faintly romantic read.
