Platus speaks to us today

It's little known that Plautus' comedies were a major source for the Broadway and film hit: "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum". I can only hope that old Titus had comic actors of the quality of Zero Mostel, Phil Silvers, Jack Glifford, and Sir Michael Hordern to carry out his plots! Plautus' plays, written nearly two centuries before Augustus, are populated by people as real, as wise, as stupid, and as crazy, as anyone alive today. Their manias and phobias are ours; people don't really change--at least, not much in the course of a mere 2,500 years or so!

Greece was never this funny!

It's everything you could want in a comedy; big laughs, tricky plots, some more big laughs!!! A great translation, Wind brings a lyrical quality to Plautus, the comedy is pure music
