Role of a Lifetime - not just for actors

I have worked as a dramatist and actress, but my "role of a lifetime" is the one God created for me aside from all the stuff I do. This book really helped me clarify my priorities and gain confidence in who I am as a woman. Excellent writing. Role of a Lifetime: Your Part in God's StoryHighly recommended!

Playing a New Role

If you're like me and have made some big mistakes along the way, listen to Lucinda McDowell's words: "None of us is chained to the past...It is never too late to write a new story for the rest of your life." Yes, we're all called to play a role in God's plan, but thankfully our pasts don't have to control our future roles! This is the message of Role of a Lifetime, and it's a message I needed to hear. Thank you for your encouraging words, Lucinda!

Gaining the Applause of Heaven

Role of a Lifetime: Your Part in God's Story is one of the greatest challenges to success that I've ever come across in book form. How many times have we heard the call, "Lights, camera, action," only to find the curtain of life has already come down and we've missed an entire act? How tragic if we continued in that loss and missed the whole play! McDowell not only effectively helps readers discover the role they were created to play, but she also shows us how to give a stellar performance. Want to hear the applause of heaven echoing in your ears? Get a copy of this book, read it--and put it into practice!

Sorry, Shakespeare

Sorry, Shakespeare, but you got it wrong--and Cindy got it right. I disagree with that famed theatrical imagery from your "Macbeth": "Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more." My dear Elizabethan bard, you left God out of the picture. While fully embracing the "sound and fury" (your language, William) that besets life, Cindy presents a positive analoy to the good that can come out it. If you were still around, this is a book I'd put in your hands. She'd challenge you (p. 3 of her book) to change your life, choose a new life, and know that you have a significant part if God's kingdom story. Still unconvinced? Her chapter-ending questions called "My Life Story" shalt give thee pause. Read this book and you'll meet amazing people plus glean lessons from other literature and screenplays (yes, Shakespeare, this globe has come a long ways since The Globe days) that will radically change your thinking.
