A study of Roger Ballen's portraits of South African population follows on the heels of this question.Through a contextualisation and visual analysis from an anthropological perspective, this essay tries to depict the artculated evolution of Roger Ballen's Photography within the South African context. Roger Ballen (b.1950) is a Photographer, director and visual artist. He studied Geology and Psychology at Berkley University. Since 1982 he lives and works in Johannesburg, South Africa.
