Trashy, but so what??????

I read this book when I was about 19-20 years old and a secretary at a dull, dead-end job, and my own life wasn't very exciting either. So you can imagine what a treat this book was for me at the time. Back then I was fascinated by the rich and famous, having never really been a part of that world (hey--it was the 1980s and I was caught up in that "greed is good" philosophy.) It was the first Jackie Collins novel I've ever read and still my favorite to this day(I've read about 6 of them in total over the years---no, 20 years later my life is not as dull as it was before - ha ha!) In any case, I loved the rags to riches stories of two of main rock stars; the third one was born wealthy; also the glamour and intrigue kept the book interesting. (I was also reading "If Tomorrow Comes" by Sidney Sheldon simultaneously--also a very enticing read.) I admire that Jackie Collins has continued to churn out her books again and again over the years. Many people dismiss her work as trash, but who cares? She obviously has a following and I'm sure she is laughing all the way to the bank!!!!! If you're in the mood for a fun book, then this is for you. If you're expecting something more along the lines of "War and Peace," then I suggest you read "War and Peace" instead!

More than 5 stars

I started this book three days ago, and I could not wait to get my kids into bed each night so that I could get back to reading. During the day while I was doing mommy & wife type things 'Rock Star' was on my mind. I found myself reading as fast as I could..not to hurry up and finish the book like I do with boring novels. The reason was so that I could get on to to the next very exciting chapter. It had an interesting start that leaves the reader wanting to keep on reading, and exciting middle part that answers questions,, and a explosive ending that left me satisfied. Great job Jackie!!!

I feel guilty for loving this book

Reading this book is like having a box of Pringles potato chips right under your nose. Once you have one, you can't stop! I definitely couldn't stop turning the pages of this delightfully trashy book. The rock star reminded me of Rod Stewart as well. Not that I take this as a "serious" look into the music industry. It's got great entertainment value though.

So true to life

Rod Stewart! That's the face I saw as Jackies rock star character. Great book. Very entertaining! I love the way she just goes right for the throat. No messing around. I'd recommend this.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER WRITTEN

This was the first book I ever read from Jackie Collins and it is the best. The only thing I had a problem with was the ending: It should have been better. Okay do they end up with one another or not. Otherwise a must read.
