Critically acclaimed, Eisner Award-winning writer Bill Willingham (FABLES) has taken over the life of Tim Drake, Robin--and the Boy Wonder's life has been a roller-coaster ride ever since ROBIN:... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I was glad to see I wasn't the only one who appreciated the great blend of art and story and character development in these Robin stories. I lost interest in the later books, annoyed by the direction Tim's character was taken, but I enjoy these earlier issues.
Another Terrific Tim Drake Story

Riding on Batman's coattails Tim Drake's Robin has got to be one of the most fleshed out characters in the DCU. This is Bill Willingham's first Robin story and it's great. Willingham decides who he thinks Robin is here and I like his decision. A still young, still learning teenager who is still a fledgling super-hero. He's good at what he does but not yet great. Very much a Batman in training. The art is great (although I've never liked anybody's Robin as much as Freddie Williams III: see Robin: Teenage Wasteland). The cartoony style fits and adds an extra dimension when some pretty graphic violence takes place. Like watching a Saturday morning cartoon and having one character torture another with an clothes iron. The story is fast-paced and kept a short attention reader like myself turning pages with delight. As an extra, an original plot outline by Willingham is included and includes a few notes from the books editor. I've never seen that as an extra and I thought it was a fascinating addition. Continuitywise this book belongs between Batman: As the Crow Flies and Batman: War Drums (Prelude to War Games).
Good Story

Good story line, good artwork, I didn't want to put it down. I don't know why, but the storyline just made it an enjoyable read for me. I read this the same weekend as "Robin: Wanted" and thought this one was much better
Enjoyable Read

I found "Robin:Unmasked" to be a very enjoyable read. The story grabs you right away and proceeds at a fast pace to the end. The quality of the drawings are excellent, giving Robin a slick, modern look. Most of the characters are appealing and fairly well-developed, but the villain is weak. There is some teen angst in the story, but I think you can appreciate the work even if you are an adult.
