An old book - but a real GEM!

I picked up my book years ago. I read it cover to cover, and it revolutionized my thoughts and action plan for getting hired. It is well written, and packed with lean, mean and to the point advice. It is written from experience and is a very important work. Now, today it might be a little dated, but the writing style and the way it is laid out are timeless. I have read this book over four times, and each time I read it I learn a little bit more. It is an excellent work, and I would recommend it to anyone who is wiching to change careers or look for a new position.

A book to help you succeed on paper at anything

The Robert Half Way to Get Hired in Today's Job Market is one of the most useful books you'll ever own. Mr. Half gives the reader help all the way through he hiring process -- how to write a resume, cover letter, how to prepare for a job interview, what to say in the thank-you note. By far, the most valuable part of the book, however, is his word lists that help put "the sell" in your resume. Besides working for resumes and cover letters, I have used these lists to help me write recomendation letters. Our copy is battered and worn and very well-used. Buy this book. It is an excellent reference.
