The Look West Series invites you to meet the roadrunner, that clever bird known for its speed, charisma and impudence. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is not long enough to be a very in-depth study of the subject, but for the amount of space allotted, it covers a lot of ground and provides quite a bit of information. And, of course, the photos are spectacular. It didn't answer EVERY question I had on the subject, but it was a very good start.
A lot of information in very little space

The aim of "Roadrunners" seems to be to cover the topic as extensively (if not as thoroughly) as possible. The result is a great number of facts presented in not very many pages. But those facts are interesting for the most part (though I could have done without the sections on the cartoon or the cars named after the bird). The writing is adequate for the most part, and I did come away from the book with greater knowledge of the roadrunner. The highlight of the book for me was the photos, some of which are truly spectacular. This is a book a ten-year-old child could read without much difficulty if he or she were interested in the topic.
The REAL Roadrunner

No it is not a cartoon or an automobile. If you want to know what makes this bird go - this is the best book on the subject. I cannot believe $12.95 for a hardcover filled with great color photos.
