the BEST self-help book I've EVER read

I'm waiting and waiting and waiting for this book to come back into stock so that I can order one for myself. I read a borrowed copy which I cannot highlight or underline or write in to remember the MANY passages which really reflect my life and concerns.I have major difficulties with the term "co-dependency," and I had never picked up a book with this term in the title before this one was laoned to me by a friend. It's not that I don't believe that co-dependency exists, it's just that this "sound bite term" has become so bandied about that it no longer has any meaning at all. This book, offers a clear explanation of the term in a variety of scenarios and relationships, thereby making the term "real."While some of the questions the author suggests one should ask to others sound a bit hokey, the questions provided to prompt self discovery are exceptional!!! If readers are "into" journaling, they would find very interesting prompts within the pages of this book.In addition, the author's common-sense approach is very readable and would be so even without the common "case histories" which seem to be in every self-help book these days. Some of the "mental affirmations" the author suggests are particularly insightful. The book is also very attuned to diverse religious affiliations.I'll probably never read another book on co-dependency (as I mentioned, the term disturbs me). But, I'm very, very glad I read this one.
