`TIS THE SEASON... FOR LOVE When her best friend was nominated for a Bronze Star one year after her death, Amy Galloway went to Tribute, Texas, to support her friend's widower - and children. Never one to put down roots, Amy was surprised by the warm welcome she received from builder Riley Sinclair and his adorable daughters. But Amy hadn't expected to be attracted to handsome Riley. Nor had she expected the girls to treat her almost like.... Well.... Like a mom. And the Sinclairs drew her further into their circle of love, Amy began to realize that Tribute might just be the home she'd been searching for all her life...

Just too darned sweet

I love Janis Reams Hudson. From her Loveswept "Angel on a Harley" to the Apache Magic series, she has a gift for words and characters. But this book just felt too fluffy. Everyone was so NICE! The three girls are always adorable (even when whining), Riley is the perfect father and was the perfect husband and is the perfect lover -- oh yes, and the perfect boss. Brenda (may she rest in peace) was the perfect mom, perfect wife, and a war hero to boot. And Amy ... well, suffice it to say that she couldn't be much nicer either. Maybe I am expecting the wrong thing -- it is a Christmas story, and a Silhouette SE. Maybe, after torturing her heroes in so many ways for so many years, Janis just wanted a happy, simple story. There's nothing wrong with that, and if that is what you are looking for, then go for it. She writes great characters, and you will enjoy. But if you are looking for something a bit more realistic, intense or biting, this isn't your best choice.
