rip roaring snortin western with lots of action and you will hate "lady HOLT

I HAVE BEEN READING NOVELS FOR SOME TIME BEING 65 YEARS OLD BUT HAVE NEVER BEEN SO INTRIGUED BY A BOOK SO MUCH AS THE COTTON SMITH SERIES."RIDE FOR RULE CORDELL". IT IS THE TYPE OF NOVEL UNDER"CAN'T PUT IT DOWN"BOOKS. YOU CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO THE NECT PAGE AND SEE IF THE HATED "LADY HOLT" HAS BEEN KNOCKED OFF HER HIGH HORSE AND HER RANCH GIVEN BACK TO THE RANCHERS SHE STOLE IT FROM OR IF SOMEONE HAS FINALLY SHOT THE WENCH. I WOULD SAY THAT "RANGER JOHN CHECKER" IS ON THE SAME PLATEAU AS "JACK REACHER" OF THE LEE CHILD SERIES.

Fantastic novel, once again

I never get tired of the writing of Cotton Smith. He, like Johnny D Boggs, are among the elite of our generation. "Ride For Rule Cordell" is no exception. Lady Holt, an English rancher has set her sights on taking conrol of Texas. The Texas Rangers are in her way and head Ranger John Checker is not about to let the Lady win. Rule Cordell, a former outlaw is called into help the Rangers fight the ambitions of the Lady. Corruption runs all the way to the top to stage governor, judge, banker, attorney, land agent and even sherriff! Holt may be a lady, but deep down she is a raging, opportunistic demon! Range war is nothing compared to the struggle Rule and Holt leave in their midst! Once again, Mr Smith produces another page turner that is easy to read, easy on the mind, yet deep on plot and characterization. Could Smith be an amazing movie script writer? I can imagine him penning Have Gun Will Travel, or Gunsmoke, or the Lone Ranger even. This is spectacular fiction. Don't miss it!
