Rick Steves does well

Having been to Italy six times already, I was not sure if this travel guide would help much. I ordered it because we will be spending over three weeks in the Tuscany area. The book is more than worth the price with just the "behind the scenes" information that Rick provides you. Plus I utilized his suggestion for the B & B we will be staying at in Volterra, Italy. The only negative thing about the book is that it made me want to leave now...not next May

Rick Steve"s guides

I would highly recommend any of the Rick Steve's European guide books. We used this one in Italy and found it very helpful. And it was amazing to see so many others using it, too! Everywhere we went, walking, flying or on the train, there was at least one other person reading their Rick Steve's book!

going to Italy

This book is great!! All the planning is done for you. Places to go..what to make sure you see there...where and what to eat...etc. etc. No one should leave on a trip to Europe without the Rick Steves book under his arm.

Great Guide! Extrememly Helpful

This was a great guidebook and I was thoroughly glad i purchased it. I thought the Rome one was a little better, and was a little disappointed in the content in the Florence edition. If you aren't planning on spending your time in Florence in all the museums, it's a little dry on the history of everything else. The museum tours are sparse but very knowledgeable on what they do talk about. Though if you get out of the city, this book is great, because it is everything you need for day trips. (except cinque terre which would have been helpful) The guide to Pisa was indispensable-it helped us get through there in 45 minutes, wasting no time. Definitely worth it to buy and at least pull out the sections you need.

Very helpful!

I spent 9 days this spring in Florence and Tuscany & found this book to be absolutely wonderful--full of great tips to get the most of your trip. Obviously, a lot of other people found him useful too, as everywhere we went, we saw people toting his book around! My German sister-in-law found it comical! I am so glad that my friend introduced me to Rick Steves! I now own 3 of his books and am actually shopping for a couple more to use in the coming year!
