No Audio...Tsk tsk..

I like this book. It is one of the more useful guides to rhythm playing, and I recommend it to both beginning and early intermediate would-be rhythm players. Sadly, one very valuable feature was not provided with this program. There is no audio available. Although audio examples are not essential, they enhance guitar instruction so much that it is surprising when they are not included. This is particularly true with RHYTHM GUITAR! Of course, if you are even mildly diligent, you'll be able to work out the intended sound, but for a couple of bucks more (which most learners would gladly pay), the book could have been much more effective and derserved a 5 star rating.

Up And Running In No Time

This book, as well has Harveys book "Rhythm Guitar" were the tools that got me rolling. A great resource for somebody that wants to teach themselves guitar. Can't say enough about them.

Big Thumbs Up

If you're looking for a book to help you learn to play the guitar, this is it. I have been playing on and off for a few years, and finally made great strides after picking up this book.Harvey Vinson lays it all out, in a logical manner. I was able to sit down, and start playing along with it immediately, and within a month of practicing every day with the book, I was very happy with the results.Finding a good teacher is tough, and finding a good instructional book is even tougher. You will find both in this book.

A Definative Guide To Lead Guitar

For a long time I was struggling with teaching myself the guitar. Then I bought this book, and it all suddenly came together. Harvey Vinson is a great teacher. This book gives you useful techniques and a brief history on the concept of rock and blues guitar. The CD that it comes with (performed by Harvey Vinson & The Mustangs) is incredibly useful. The backing instruments on the CD are very helpful.

Encompasing yet rapid overview enables you without waste.

This is an ideal book for those who want to learn rock and blues guitar and enjoy playing with others without time spent on side trips to musical notation or classical training methods. Unlike many training books, everything you learn is applicable to what you want to play. The lessons are logically presented in a clear encouraging, measured way that builds confidence. Thank you Harvey Vinson.
