Answers my questions

This book gave me the conceptual tools I needed to make sense of the Adobe Premier manual. The manual is chock full of the technical info that allows you to use all the features that Premiere offers, but Revolutionary Premiere 6 tells you which choice makes sense and why. In addition, it gives you the big picture on digital filmmaking techniques that can make the difference between making a film that looks amateurish and one that gets your message across. I knew within the first five minutes that this book would give me an understanding of the dynamics of filmmaking, while giving me specific advice on how to make Adobe Premiere do what I want it to do. Great job.

Inspiring, but confusing

This is the first book I read on Premiere. This is the book that made me realize the potential of Premiere (as the book's title very aptly puts it). Also this is probably the only book on Premier that deals with film making as a whole (script writing, storyboarding, shooting, capturing, editing, etc.) rather than just editing. This is the book that got me interested in filmmaking. But to understand Premiere as a tool, I found "Adobe Premiere 6.0 Classroom in a book" clearer and more systematic. I give this book 4 stars for introducing me to the revolution that is Premiere 6.

Great but not perfect......

As a new user to Premiere, I was pleased at the arrival of this book and jumped right in. It seems to be well organized for begginers until I started in on the tutorial section, it may be just that they were rushed to get this to print but the end of the basic editing chapter really confused me and I got lost on several occasions, the author seemd to think you were right there and bounced from one topic to the next and then back again without checking to see if (me) the student was following at the same level. Don't know if it's a mis-print or not but check out Pages 169 and 170. 169 ends with a summary after going through 23 steps, page 170 lists steps 3 & 4 and then Page 171 begins a new chapter ? Not sure what's up here....I will post this to thier site and see if they are aware...not real good QA on their part. In general I am pleased with the content. I cannot give it a perfect 5 because of the errors.

This is a great book

I can't quite put my finger on why I like this book so much. I think it has something to do with the fact it's a very 'warm' book, it doesn't suffer from the 'coldness' which the Classroom in a Book (which I also have) suffers from. The examples are similar in both books but Revolutionary Premiere's are easier to follow and contain more background information about editing. My editing has really improved in the last few weeks. It also has a lovely looking cover.
