Proposed prayers for gathering, intercession, and scripture reading portions of worship, for use by all churches who use the Revised Common Lectionary. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Revised Common Lectionary Prayers are prayers that go along with the lectionary used by most mainline denominations for each Sunday. There are several options for each Sunday: thematic, intercessory and scripture and in my experience, the best ones are almost always the scriptural prayers because the authors needed to connect immediately with the themes for specific readings. Nonetheless, all the prayers are really fine and written well, even if there is some inconsistency with quality and style (this is due to the fact that the prayers were written by an ecumenical committee). An important resource for a church professional and probably useful for devotional use, though only for someone who's very interested in deeply thinking about each week's readings.

This wonderful collection of prayers by the Consultation on Common Texts uses language which is both inclusive and evocative. The text provides a collect/prayer of the day for each Sunday of the three year cycle (and Holy Week/Triduum) as well as an introduction and concluding collect for the prayers of the people. A truly great resource.
