An intriguing story

I am not much of a science fiction reader, but I must confess that I really enjoyed this story. The book has a bit of technical information in the beginning, but as I continued reading, it became obvious that the information provided was essential to the story. I loved how the authors showed how people can be gullible and how something that we are led to believe is righteous may not necessarily be so - and vice versa. I found the book to be a fun read and certainly recommend it.

In the novel Revelations for a new age: Return to Grace, that computer is a reality. John Taylor is the chief engineer of the project responsible for creating this technology, known as BIC, or Bioptonic Intelligent Computer. The project is off to a good start once the computer gets booted up; but then a radical fundamentalist Christian group gets wind of this device and labels it as evil. The group sets out to destroy the computer. In the meantime, BIC detects an asteroid that is on a collision course with earth, which will destroy life on earth as we know it. Only BIC can save the world, but can it save earth before the Christian groups destroy BIC? The race has begun, who will win? BIC or the radical Christian group? The author explains the technology of the computer in such a way that it seems to be reasonably possible. The main part of the story, however, is not about the feasibility of the project, but about the war between religious groups and technology and how the human race defines what is good, and what is bad? The extreme that is portrayed in this novel is actually rather scary, that one radical group could terrorize and affect the lives of so many. Steve Schoeneman has a Bachelor of Science degree in electronics and management from the University of Southern Illinois. He spent a number of years in the Air Force as a Cryptography and Communication specialist, and now works as a Tactical Wide Area Network Engineer. Mark Wheeler has a Master of Business Administration and PhD in Systems Science. He has published five books, and his work deals with the computer operating systems and software design. This book is interesting in terms of the technology. The drama of the conflict and its outcome is exciting to read. The book is recommended by: Margaret Orford, Allbooks Reviews.

Who to believe when confronting an uncertain future? Where do everyday folks turn to for knowledge and help when survival depends on the need to do extra-ordinary things. Well written and entertaining.
