It was back in 1992 when the author originally investigated the old Spencer State Hospital and later wrote his 2014 book titled Inside Haunted Spencer State Hospital. The old asylum no longer exists, but several other landmarks remain on the old 184 acre hospital farm which overlooks Spring Creek at Spencer, West Virginia. An old clinic building, an abandoned hospital cemetery, and an old stone house are still there as a haunting reminder of the institutions grim past-a place where many checked in, but never checked out. Now, 23 years later, the author has gone back in for a final investigation. The results have been written into this latest book Return to Haunted Spencer State Hospital.
