If each of us will 'bloom where we are planted' and offer thoughtful action and generous concern to our neighborhood, or to a neighborhood nearby that really needs us, America is sure to be stronger and richer for a long time to come. I think that's the message of this book, along with some politically important points. [Like that it is neither fair nor wise to add unpleasant or dangerous land uses to neighborhoods that are already struggling to stay healthy.] I think you'll find it worth your time. I read it from cover to cover, though I thought I'd only browse.
