Republic or Democracy Does it Matter

The United States is commonly referred to as a democracy. We were founded as a republic. Our founders specifically rejected democracy. They explained all the reasons they chose republic and rejected democracy. Our republic is being transformed into a democracy and the reasons the founders rejected democracy are becoming a reality. A republic limits the power of government and safeguards liberty. A democracy has no limitations on the power of government and rations liberty.
