Phil's story is nothing short of amazing. I read his first book, Cry Out, when writing a college paper on child abuse. His story was told so vividly that I was traumatized by reading it, but awakened to the realities of what goes on in abusive homes which appear normal to the outside. This book provides the anticipated continuation of his story. I was able to meet and befriend Phil when he came to my city to speak for a religious group around 1986. Although life is never easy for a child abuse survivor such as Phil, he has become an inspirational figure. He also influenced my career choice to become a social worker in the area of child abuse which I've now done for 12 years.
