Great until the end...

I love Karen Kingsbury books and every story pulls me in. This book was no exception. Except for this particular book. The last 50 pages were ripped out. Very unfortunate since I thought I was buying a full book in "very good condition" and paid a price for that. So not happy about that.

A Fully Detailed Book of emotion

I was totally engrossed in this book! Loved the new direction for Kari's life, Chapter 19 was a GRIPPER for all concerned- those in the book as well as those reading the book, loved the Thanksgiving at the Baxter table, Chapter 31 was my favorite - joy and a smile came in reading it. Sadness, joy, anticipation are all within the Baxter family happenings. The 9/11 story within brings memory back to the heart of the reader. Ready to move onto RETURN!

Tragedy/healing, hurt/forgiveness, the back cover says it all

Wow, I've never a had a book impact so much emotionally. The title is so perfect in so many ways. It's about so much more than 9-11. It's about remembering your first love, remembering your youth and the good things in life, remembering to care and to live in the moment rather than protect your heart from pain because you never know what tomorrow will bring, remembering God and the big picture, remembering that only God can heal our heart and love us the way we need to be loved. I cried so many times during this story I can't remember (LOL!), mainly because all of the relationships between the characters were so real. And there was true love, and romance, and kissing between several sets of characters, all with different issues causing them pain. This is so often absent in "inspirational" fiction, and that makes me sad. The characters' temptations were real, their sin and mistakes were real, the losses they all felt were amazingly real. I don't think the 9-11 thing was overdone at all. Maybe because I'm from NY state, it hits me closer to home. I remember watching the events unfold on television (while living in Arizona) and being in shock for a week. Remembering this event, in my opinion, is important, because like with any tragedy we tend to forget, and I don't think that's a good thing at all. Remembering makes us love more, try harder, and ultimately heal. Did I mention that I couldn't put this book down? Good thing this was a long weekend!

Refreshingly real...

What a beautiful, wonderful story. I couldn't put it down. The tale of the Baxter family and it's patriach Dr. John Baxter and his wife Elizabeth stirred my heart with the tender honesty I crave in fiction. Everyone didn't pray the sinner's prayer or make all the right choices, but this book filled me with hope and faith. We are all so weak and fallable and in need of the great grace Christ offers. From the fragile memories of the Alzhemier's patients at Sunset Hills to the each of the Baxter children's journey to recapture the love and faith they'd left, lost or never discovered, REMEMBER is unforgettable. Bring the tissues and be prepared to leave this book's pages with a renewed understanding of faith, family and country. I'd been thinking this week that a depressive feeling I hadn't felt since September 11th had begun to assail me again in light of recent events. This book was a refreshing chance to truly remember, not only the sorrow of 9-11, but the charity and unity that followed. May God strengthen us all.

WOW!

This is a perfect part two for "Redemption"! Infact I rate it to be even better than the first. In book one you were left wondering three things: "What's in store for Kari and Ryan?", "What happened to Ashley in Paris?", and "Why is Luke such a jerk?". This answers your questions while still leaving room for the next book. While it is a great book, I don't recommend this to people who get really uncomfortable with.......intimacy. This story deals with real issues. Some people may need to think about reading it before hand. Rest assured this book does NOT justify such things.

Great book! I could not put it down!

I have read several books by Karen Kingsbury and she has never failed me yet to supply a great read. The characters in this book show true human nature and emotions. Family emotions and true to life struggle within. How valuable family is to a person. I especially enjoyed the love and concern that our main character Ashley shows to the Alhemizer patients. This is an excellent book, I did not realize it was part of a series so now I can't wait to read the first book in the series "Redemption". Truly a great, moving, enjoyable read. You won't be disappointed.

COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!

This is the first Karen Kingsbury book I have read. I missed the first book but I am going to go back and read it too. I can hardly wait for the next book to come out. What a blessing this book was! I plan to share it with all my friends who love to read like I do. I also plan to read every book by Karen that I can get my hands on! The way she portrays her characters is amazing. It is as if you were living in the Baxter house and you are one of the family. You feel what they feel. I couldn't put this book down. My mom died a few months ago and this has helped me so much to remember her in ways I had never thought of before. The loss has eased somewhat. I hope her other books are this inspiring, uplifting, and helpful. I read one review that said it more of a self help book than fiction. Not So! It's like a buy one get one free! You are not only caught up in the story but at the same time you will reflect on your own life and realize that God is always there waiting for you to give it all to Him and watch Him work!
