give the books a chance

I thought that this book was great. I loved hearing about the "saddle club's" relationship. I like how they all go in a series- unlike the much shorter saddle club books. The book is nicely written and can hoold your intrest- one tip, most on-line reviews say the book stinks- if you read that and believe it and then start reading the book with that in mind then the book really is gong to stink. Go into it w/an open mine- and you'll find its really a good book. They did have a lot of horses, just more "movie-star horses" than Pine Hollow ones. I liked it cause I wanted to see what Lisa's life was like and if it makes a big deal out of the next books (which it does) then it helps knowing what it was really like there. These books are great- your not in suppense about what happened over the month missed between books in the saddle club (though some are less than a month) these books skip a couple of days, sometimes not even a day (like between #'s 1-2). Keep writing these books, Bryant- your doing a great job.

Hollywood! Horses! Cute T.V. Stars!

I never read The Saddle Club books when I was younger, and I never had much of an interest in horses or riding. The lack of interest in riding is probably because I live in a suburb of Detroit that doesn't have any riding facilities nearby. Anyway, I needed something to read, so I bought "The Long Ride" and have been hooked on the Pine Hollow series ever since. This book was so awesome. I read almost the entire thing in a day. I couldn't put it down. Lisa is trying to choose between living in California or Virginia. She loves her job working in the stable of Skye's show Paradise Ranch, but she misses Alex, Stevie, Carole, and everyone else back home. She's torn in two. Stevie's mom suggests that she go to visit Lisa in California to get her mind off the accident. Carole comes along. Carole falls in love with Jerimiah Jamison, who seems nice, but is a two-faced jerk. Will he break her heart? Will Stevie betray Phil with Matthew? I'm reading "Changing Leads" now, and I have to say this is a great series. I also loved the book's message about taking each day at a time and living in the moment, not the past or the future. This is a great book for a day at the beach. "Ride" on, Ms. Bryant!

i don't know if i'll like this book.

i wish they would mention more stuff about belle, starlight, prancer, barq, coconut, and the other horses in the pine hollow books.please write more about the horses ms.bryant

I haven't read this book, but I've read the others ...

Like I said, I haven't read this book, so I gave it 5 stars, but I have read the other 2 books and enjoyed them, allthough i wish they would talk about the girls taking lessons, and doing things other than trail rides for a change. I am 12 and still a faithful reader of "The Saddle Club" but i like this more mature attitude of Pine Hollow. I am going to buy this book soon, so i hope it is good!!! Keep up the good work, Bonnie!!!

Alright, but not great

I used to love the Saddle Club books, but eventually you outgrow them. I bought the first few Pine Hollow books, thinking they would be more entertaining for a 16 year old to read. The books are OK storywise, but they don't mention hardly any of the characters that I used to think of like real people. What happened to Belle, Starlight, and Prancer? What about Max and his family? Veronica, and all the other riders? I think the books would be much better if they kept up with everyone. Anyone who agrees, email me!
