Hey, I know this book is old (1981 by computer standards is ancient). But if you're looking at controlling something in the 'real-world' with a computer (or micro), you should read this book. I just got my copy back off the shelf again for a project and it's still relevant. It discusses things like process control without making your eyes glaze over at the math involved. The experiments are fun if you can handle a soldering iron. You don't have to be a EE to get them working. I think much of the information could apply to PICs or other microprocessors with little or no change.
