Good Basics

This book is a good read for a CHENG to be. written in 1997, it came just before the major changes in training, but it lays the framework for a sound engineering department. The first chapter covering turn over is especially good. If this book can succeed at teaching you make it through an OPPE, it can help you get through E-QUAL.CHENG FFG-29

APPLICABLE TO ALL NAVY LEADERS

I am in the Navy Medical Service Corps, and having served aboard ship know that nothing happens in medical without the good graces of our brothers and sisters in engineering. It is a behind the scenes job that has the respect of ever marine or sailor onboard. LCDR Bruhn's book although written for engineers has a few words of wisdom of leadership in today's Navy. It's a great read for any Navy leader, regardless of ones department within the ship.
