A classic

Fun and easy read, would recommend, but it's not life changing or anything but it's a real fun story with a satisfying ending.

Epic

This book was an epic page turner. Incredible characters, action and fun 80’s culture! Next up read: Armada

The book that got me back into reading.

I used to read books NONSTOP as a kid. I’d pick another one up as soon as I put one down. However, when I got older and started dealing with mental health issues, I found it harder and harder to even pick it a book, much less finish it in a sitting. I was plagued with this for over four years. Then, I picked up Ready Player One. Game changer. Switch flipped. Do yourself a favor and put this on your bookshelf.

Loved it

Great read. Finished it in a few days!

Why?

the mc's attitude is horrible. way too much detail. just why?

Great novels for geeks of all kind.

Fun read. The characters are endearing. I could imagine an Oasis world in near future. If you know the eighties, comics then you will enjoy this book even more.

80 pop culture at it's best

I think I would really label this a 3.5 stars, but what can you do. I really enjoyed this book but I can see an issue with some people reading this. First I adore the pop culture reference in this book. I think I read it knowing it was for the geek culture aspect. For younger readers I think they would get a little frustrated due to the fact that there isn't the emotional excitement whenever these references are talked about. Secondly the way that Wade narrates can feel stilted from time to time because he pauses to explain the history and/or importance behind a piece of music or game console. For me I knew some of the information and I think it was provided for younger readers who may not understand but it could get in the way of the story line a bit. I really did enjoy the characters. All of them felt real and fully formed. I love how they stood on their own and the individual character plot lines which isn't easy from a first person singular narrative. Overall I had fun reading this and probably would read this again.

Excellent!

My partner is a huge gaming/computer nerd and by proxy it's something I'm familiar with. That gave me a great context to really enjoy all the little Easter eggs in the book, although I'd say even a non-gamer reader could really enjoy this book. The plot is wonderfully fast paced and I couldn't put it down. Highly recommend it and I'm looking forward to the recently announced Ready Player Two.

Loved it!!

BRILLIANT book! I was hooked! All the nostalgia from childhood came flooding to me. The 80s were a great decade and this book made me fall back in love with that time again! BRB off to go and watch some Breakfast Club and Goonies now...

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this, but not as much as so many others did. I thought it was okay.

Couldn't put it down

This book is awesome. Totally kept me engaged and the narrator really connects with the reader. Great for fans of adventure, sci-fi, dystopia, and commentary on humanity in general!

Ready Player One

If you want a book that will keep you reading for hours I highly suggest this one!

An iconic work of science fiction

If you've read a few science fiction books before, you're gonna love this one.

This book remains a favorite!

People from all over will love to read this book. In my opinion it doesn't matter whether or not they are use to reading other genre's this is a whole new genre full of excitment. It's definitely considered a re read as i have myself. Highly recommended.

Worth a second read!

I love this book because it gave me back some parts of my youth that I had forgotten. I thought it comparable to The Wizard, (film, not book).

21st century meets the 80s And it is stunning

Beautifully written. the story presented is funny, frustrating and fast pace for a stand Alone. this book is amazing with its references To the 80s in pop culture and video games. A must have in any book lovers self
