In Depth Book

Im surprised no one has read/reviewed this book yet. It is quite frankly, excellent. Dr Ali mixes metaphor and ancient myth fluidly to draw the reader into his writings. Once inside, he looks closely at numerous alternative health paradigms that have been maligned by western medicine, and through an story argument form between a doctor (himself presumably) and a devils advocate named choua (Urdu word for Rat, in case anyone was wondering) delves into the twisted and deliberately misleading way people (and if you wish, I dont, doctors) have been misled. He does the same for methods/drugs/etc trumpeted by western medicine as god-sends. For example for some Heart medicine drugs(that cost an arm and a leg), he points out in painful detail and very exactingly in his story form how the summaries of the studies show a drop in heart disease itself, *but no drop in mortality*. AKA, take them, and while you wont die from a stopped ticker, you might get a stroke or something else which puts you back at ground zero - except youre poorer and pharmaceutical companies (and doctors, in my opinion, not his) are richer. More insidious yet, some drugs trumpeted only cause a drop in heart disease *MARKERS* but not heart disease. And thats just a small part of the book. Its a big heavy book, but quite worth the time to read. Recommended.
