Wild Boy in Savannah

A wild book about Timmy, a wild boy kicked out of a Benedictine friars' school and growing up in hot, exotic Savannah amidst his dysfunctional family. This book contains memorable scenes and memorable characters, including Theresa, the sensual mulatto quasi-voodoo-witch and the main protagonist's father, an ineffectual minor league baseball player from the North who recovers the ability to speak French once he's hit on the head by a ball. Non-stop wildness, but a bit of a disappointing ending.
