The author has some funny observations of society today through the eyes of the narrator Charlie. You may even learn some tactics for e-bay. This story is certainly no masterpiece, but is very enjoyable. The basic plot is Charlie Watson recently finally achieved everything he wanted to in life, he moved to London having escaped his boring little home town, found an attractive wife and started his own DJ business called the Cheesy Vinyl Roadshow. This dream life all came crashing down however when his wife got pregnant and asked him if he agreed that London was no place to raise a child. Being a bit of a wuss, he said of course dear. They bought a house back in his home town, where his business suffers from the location and the only satisfaction from life he gets is supplementing his staggering business by outbidding some other nerd on e-bay for collectibles which he knows he can sell for profits. It is during an intense e-bay bidding strategy that his wife who was forced to ignore their screaming baby and answer the phone he refused to be interrupted by tells him his brother Leo's dead. Leo refused to grow old and let go of the party lifestyle and in fact had the glamorous job as a tribute artist. Charlie is compelled to wrap up his brothers life but learns Leo had a bit of a secret life as a con artist, his latest victim involving a lost dog. Charlie wanting excitement decides to find out exactly what his brother was up to and finds out there are others also interested in his brother's life. It also becomes apparent they thought their troubles had died with Leo.
