A guide to creating unusual dolls features instructions that take the reader step-by-step through cutting the patterns, painting faces, and fashioning clothes for the dolls. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a good choice for getting a start in toy doll-making (this is not an "art doll" book). Clear instructions, lots of color photos and color diagrams, descriptions and methods for types of hair and faces, and a stitch glossary make this book a good one for the novice dollmaker. What I like best is the natural skill progression the book takes, from simple flat dolls that are quick to make and customize all the way to three-dimensional dolls and complex button-and-bead dolls (11 types of doll in all). It might be difficult to find but it's worth the search.
