Rachel Judd Hamblin: One of God's Angels

As a history buff, it was my great pleasure to be asked to write a brief testimonial about this book regarding Rachel Judd Hamblin's life. It is a wonderful story of the human spirit overcoming many tragedies and surviving many hardships. Rachel possessed such great faith in a new religion to which she devoted her life. She consecrated herself to the ideal of finding Zion, a peaceful home where she could raise her family and have a good life. Rachel was one of those people who experienced such great historical events from the sidelines but suffered through all the consequences of those events. It was due to her faith and enduring spirit that she was able to raise a large family who went on to be strong members of their communities and be examples of her hardworking, devoted life. Rachel was a fine example of a true pioneer woman, who struggled and sacrificed to come West and make a new life. A truly wonderful story and a great inspiration.
