The Love of Money Still Leads to All Kinds of Evil

Ricky is sorting books for an upcoming book sale when he stumbles upon what looks like a treasure map. Town legend has long held that "Moth-Wallet" Bugsby buried a fortune in gold before he died, but no one has ever been able to find it. Could this be a key to the long awaited treasure? Ricky and his friends are determined to find out. And, while they try to keep it quiet, news leaks out. Now they seem to be racing half to town to find the gold. Can they find it first? And what might they learn about human nature, including their own, along the way? This was my third time through the book, and I still couldn't remember all the clues. Actually, about half way through I realized I no longer knew what would happen next. This kept me entertained and guessing right along with Ricky. And this is a fun book. From the opening scene, you'll be hooked and entertained. Joel seems funnier then normal here, and Ralphy's hiccup sub-plot adds to the humor. Still, the ending leaves a sober impression of a Biblical truth. It's no secret that I love Ricky Kidd and his friends. This is another excellent example of why.
