This is a good quilt design book, rather than a beginner quiltmaking book. It covers the concept of color, piecing, applique pattern, effect of repeating units, and innovative log cabin designs. What I really like was the presentation of quilts made from some mathematical curve by Susan Denton, and very innovative logcabin quilts by Barbara Macey. It is much more artistic than traditional block pattern quilts, almost like water-color quilt, if not a little fractal-like.I would highly recommend this book to those who are looking to be more creative than block pattern quilt, and like to add an artistic touch.
