Don't be Silent Van Poyck

Quietus broke my heart. William Van Poyck has the makings of a genius which shows through in his story, though it lacks the refinement of someone who has spent his life training as a writer. It is good read for those who are not disturbed by the violent nature of the story. A story that has evolved from childhood abuse and abuse at the hands of the system that condemned him to a life in prison since the age of 17. At 17 Van Poyck was imprisoned for life for armed robbery in which no one was physically harmed. Van Poyck is a natural writer; I only wish the "system" had done right by him when he was a young teen. How sad to lose such a wonderful person and incredible intellect to a system that tries tro destry the good in young people.

Great Entertainment!

I read this book in two days...8 hours of pure entertainment! It was so enjoyable and spellbinding that I only put it down to sleep. The storyline was very captivating and I have to say made me jealous that I am not as good of a storyteller as William Van Poyck. I recommend it to anyone who would like a very entertaining story.

This would be a GREAT movie!

After reading this book, I would love to see it as a movie, where it would reach millions. It is so thought-provoking, and so well written that I recommend it to anyone who loves a great book that's hard to put down. The character is as complex as the storyline and has an unexpected but great ending. I cried through many parts but at the end my tears were of sadness and joy. Don't miss this one!

Enthralling!

I am of Jewish heritage and when I saw the cover of this book, it intriqued me to read it...and was I ever glad I did! There are many things this author has researched so that the content is very accurate and the story as it weaves itself is very spell-binding. It is every bit as good as a Steven King novel, but a different flavor! The ending is so unexpected yet uplifting that I recommend it to ANYONE, regardless of heritage. PLEASE READ THIS...YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!

Crime Story

Quietus: (kwi-e- chuss). Noun: 1. Literary .. The final settlement, as of a debt or obligation. 2. Archaic. A final discharge or release from life; death.Miami burglar and jewel thief Danny Sullivan is about to encounter the most perplexing and diabolical crossroad of his young, defiant life. In a quest for that 'one last heist', he targets a priceless coin collection in the safe of a Palm Beach estate. Unfortunately, fate has pulled his toystrings as he inadvertently uncovers and retrieves Nazi war loot and military documentation proving that one of WWII's most notorious war criminals is alive and well, and living in Florida. Facing a moral decision he has never encountered before, he is unaware that his identity is desperately being hunted from the opposing side. As both sides face off, the story unfolds into a series of intricate plot twists and surprising developments. One of the most intriguing aspects of this book is the author himself. William Van Poyck has written this book from his cell on death row, where he remains awaiting execution. His literary ability shines through in the captivating character development of Danny Sullivan, and his attention to certain detail that others, not being in his position, would rarely consider. It is rare to find a book that encompasses such a range of human frailty, strength, and insight. It asks us to search ourselves for all that we are, and all that we could be. It not only asks us to reveal what we honor ... it asks us to face it as well.
