quickie

"Quick Change" the book is what "Quick Change" the 1990 movie (staring Geena Davis, Bill Murray, and Randy Quaid) is based off of. I initially read the book because I was such a big fan of the movie. The book is just as fast-movie and as exciting as the movie. Probably more because the author, Jay Cronley takes many twists and turns. It was fascinating up until the very end and had a surprising outcome. It was also very comical with a touch of dry humor mixed in. Although the book is somewhat different from the picture, unlike other books that were adapted into movies I actually got the feeling that these characters (Grimm, Phyllis, and Lackey/Loomis in the movie) were the pretty much the same. It seemed that there was a large level of continuity between the movie and the book. I read the original publication of the book that came out in 1981 and it did not have any chapters (seems kinda odd?). Also, the author did not specifically say that the story took place in NY; although I figured that it must have because the book referred to "Kennedy Airport" at least once. However, the author often referred to the location as either a "city" or a "town" which was a little annoying and confusing. But other than that it was a tremendous tale. Read "Quick Change" and you will surely have a quick laugh.

A Reader in CA

I read this book many years ago. This was, by far, the funniest book I have ever read. It's one of the few treasures in my small library. Highly recommended.

funny!!!!!!!

I discovered Jay Cronley at the tender age of twelve. I had just started reading adult books when I came across Quick Change. I'm twenty-five and have read many books but Quick Change remains the all time funniest book in my library. If you enjoy madcap comedy chase scenes and surprise endings, you will love this book!!! Even ten times better than Elmore Leonard!!!! And funnier than looney tunes.

Finf this book

The funniest book I have ever read. Avoid the awful movie this was turned into.
