Amazing Ship - Amazing Book !!!!!

This book by John Maxtone-Graham is a worthy tribute to a wonderful ship and the only ocean liner plying the seas today, the Queen Mary 2. The book covers the ship from its inception through its construction to its launch and maiden voyage. It also ties the QM2 into its predicesors, the ocean liners of the past that once ruled the waves and were in the words of another John Maxtone Graham book The Only Way to Cross: The Golden Era of the great Atlantic express liners---from the Mauretania to the France and the Queen Elizabeth 2. We were lucky enough to be on the QM2 for the maiden voyage from Southhampton the Ft. Lauderdale in 2004 and bought this book to be a family keepsake and reminder of our fantastic voyage. We actually booked our maiden voyage trip two weeks after the first piece of steel was laid in the QM2's hull and followed the progress until we arrived in Southhampton the day of sailing. John's book does an excellent job of bringing all these memories back to life everytime we look at it. You will not be disappointed in this wonderful book!! Fantastic book

This is a great book for anyone who is interested in cruising, as well as anyone who is interested in wonderfully engineered machines. We hope to go on the Queen Mary 2 someday, and having read the book will make the experience all the better!
