This updated step-by-step reference provides an accurate and state-of-the-art approach to the production and/or repair of electronics equipment. Procedures with follow-up exercises cover the basics of hand soldering, wiring, and the components of successful repairs. In addition, a new section on Problem Edge Connectors has been included. Very easy to ready and to follow, this reference is a must for technicians, assembly-line personnel, technologists, QA and repair supervisors, and professionals designing electronic equipment for mass production.
This book is a great introduction to basic hand soldering for the inexperienced. It's true that the book is quite brief in some areas, but I feel that this just makes it more useable for the average electronics technician or hobbyist. Every line is worth its ink. You don't need to skim through 300 pages of a textbook just to end up highlighting several lines of useful information. A complete beginner could get a lot out of this book, but even a more experienced solderer will learn a thing or two.

This is a much improved revised 4th edition (Dec 2003) that lives up to it's product description. Well written with excellent material and illustrations it really is a must have for soldering professionals. Note that the other reviews listed below are not as favourable. One is for a different book entirly and another is for an earlier edition.
