If you want to read the ultimate study on puritanism in a few pages, get this book

This book, though old and out of print, is a must have in the study of Puritanism. While I don't agree with all of the authors conclusions, it is a great study for the history of Puritanism in New England. I never quite understood these guys, but this book set me down a road of study that I have never regretted and I think it will for you too.

Great Puritan History

Read this book if you are studying the puritans. Great information that I did not find in other books.

Explores the Humanity Beyond the Stereotypes

Every generation struggles with the flesh against the spirit. It was no different when the Pilgrims lived in New England. Too often these ancestors are presented as some simplified stereotype with dull clothing and simplistic lifestyle. Simpson probes beyond this facade, giving some perspective into the dilemmas faced by actual people of a given historical era. Reading how God helped people of other generations overcome is encouraging for any generation that follows as it faces its own set of challenges.
